Head of Business & Legal Affairs

Telegael, the EMMY-winning, TV, Animation and Feature Film production group, seeks applications for the position of Head of Business & Legal Affairs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements including international co-production agreements, distribution, music rights, composer, cast, crew, writer, licensing & merchandising agreements, MOUs, and NDAs.

  • Administering and coordinating all business, contract, legal and corporate governance matters.

  • Liaising with and advising management in matters of company law, litigation, employment law, GDPR, HR matters etc.

  • Assisting with company secretarial matters, to include incorporation of special purpose companies, managing and filing annual returns and other CRO requirements.

  • Overseeing the drafting and updating of company policies and regulations.

Qualifications and background:

  • Candidates must be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years PQE.

  • Candidates must have extensive commercial contract experience, either from a leading law firm or industry position.

  • Applications are welcome from solicitors with experience in one or more of (i) Media and Entertainment industry; (ii) General commercial; (iii) Corporate governance; (iv) Intellectual Property Law.

Location :  Spiddal, Co. Galway (Initially candidate will be required to work remotely due to the current Covid-19 Pandemnic)

Duration :  12 month fixed term contract. 

Role Purpose/Summary
This role will involve creating the final mix for national and international drama and documentary live-action and animation projects. The role requires working closely with other departments and teams in Telegael as well as partner organisations across international co-productions.

Irish language proficiency

JOB TITLE: Trainee Video Editor

REPORTING TO: Post Production Supervisor

Telegael are looking to recruit a Trainee Video Editor for a 6 month fixed term contract.

Job Description:

  • Will assist editors on animation and live action productions.

  • Will learn the edit process from the start of the raw files being received until delivery to the broadcaster.

  • Will liaise with production and sound staff in relation to the edit process.

  • Will learn about and assist with vfx, graphics and credit for programmes

  • Any other tasks as deemed necessary by the company

Key Requirements

  • Will have background knowledge and training video editing

  • Comfortable in working to tight deadlines

  • Enjoys working in a team.

  • Prior knowledge of industry software such as Avid or Davinci Resolve is desirable

  • The successful candidate must reside within 45kms of our Telegael offices.

Location : The succesful candidate will ultimately work from the Áras Telegael office in An Spidéal, Co. Should the Covid19 restrictions still apply we are looking for successful candidate to start remotely first and then relocate to Spiddal office on a full time basis once restrictions are removed. Must be able to work remote should the restrictions apply.
